Guitar Talk

All you need, gear-wise, for this course is an acoustic guitar. I'd recommend using a steel-string, like I am, but you can use a nylon string for most of it as well. You could even use an electric guitar with a clean tone if that's all you have at the moment.

I have to mention that I've seen a lot of students who have some old acoustic guitar, and a lot of times they haven't been set up properly and gotten new strings in years. This makes them extremely difficult to play and it's hard to make an instrument like that sound good. Playing guitar is difficult even on a perfect instrument, but if you're having trouble getting your guitar in tune or pressing down the strings you may wanna consider taking it to the local music store and having them check it out. Consider putting on a fresh set of strings- possibly consider lighter strings like 11s or 12s. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but then at least you're not making it more difficult than it needs to be.
