Description

Now it's time to play through this practice tune up to speed. We're going to do it with a simple backing track, so you can hear how the finger picking works when it's blended with other instruments, but if the tempo isn't right for you, this practice tune can absolutely stand on it's own as a solo acoustic guitar piece. Here it goes!

I hope you've had fun with this tutorial and that you're excited to have a whole new tool you can add to your arsenal. These bass lines can be used to spice up your basic rhythm part behind a singer, whether that's yourself or someone else, but they're also incredibly useful in your solo acoustic guitar arrangements, because they further the illusion that you're playing multiple instruments at once. Think of it as if the soloist (which would be your treble strings) step out of the spotlight for a second and let the bass player have a brief moment of attention, before he retreats back into the rhythm section. It's a relatively easy tool to use, but as you've heard in these examples, it's quite powerful and classic sounding.
