Description
In this first lesson we'll start out by exploring the type of chord called a “dominant 7 chordâ€. We've touched on this sound briefly in earlier lessons, but now we'll dive fully into this sound and explore how it works within the context of The Blues.
Dominant 7 chords are most often referred to simply by the number 7. If you compare the regular A major chord to the A7 chord, how would you describe the difference? There's certain a lot more tension in the A7 chord. Can you describe the kind of tension? Personally I would call it a bluesy kind of tension, but you may describe it with different words and that's okay.
