Putting It All Together

This is very likely the first time you've tried to learn a song with multiple different sections, and I can't stress enough that it's completely normal to immediately forget what you just learned as soon as you move on to the next thing. So in this lesson we'll review all the sections and talk about what's called the song form; which means how the sections are organized within our song.

What is a better way to make the big jump less 'screechy' on the strings?
Mike Olekshy 7 months ago

Hey there - thanks so much for your question! One technique is to mute the strings with your strumming hand while you are changing chords. Use the side of your strumming hand to gently rest on all the strings as you change positions with your fretting hand. Another technique is to lift your fretting fingers off the strings as you move positions to the next chord. A combination of both works well. You'll want to practice this very slowly at first so you can get the hang of it. Hope this helps!
