Now it's time to come up with a climactic chorus section for our song. There are so many different ways to make a chorus feel like a climax, and in this example we'll use a repetitive rhythm.

Hi, there is a beak sign under the fifth eighth note in the fourth bar. What does it mean? There is also a "cresc." abbreviation above the first two eighth notes in the same bar. Does it mean that the notes gets louder and louder until the beak sign? By the way, thank you for the great lessons. Best regards, Márton

Hello - thanks so much for your questions! The beak sign is an accent symbol. It means to accent that last strum. In other words, make that strum the loudest. You are correct about the cresc. abbreviation - short for crescendo -- it does mean to strum louder and louder in that bar. Hope this helps!
