Putting It All Together

Now it's time to review the different sections of our song, and then we'll talk through and practice the form. Then we'll practice the whole song together at a slower tempo. I'll count us in and then we'll play through the whole form slowly. Feel free to just watch and listen first if you prefer.

Why does this hurt so much?

Hello - thanks for your question! If it hurts - stop immediately! You do not want to sustain any injuries while learning to play. You do not need to play the exercise as written. For example, move up the neck and practice the power chord shape where it doesn't hurt. Practice only as long as it doesn't hurt. You can come back to this later on and keep chipping away at it. Your fingers need to stretch and the muscles need to loosen up. Keep at it, but only do what you can without any pain!

There is a missing or mistakenly added rift for the middle part the song when putting it all together. Also you said multiple time throughout the tutorial to play the rift only two time for this song. Should I add the rift in middle, or play it as you lastly showed?

Thanks for your question! Indeed Anders makes a mistake when breaking down the arrangement of the song in this video. The arrangement is INTRO, VERSE, CHORUS, VERSE, CHORUS, OUTRO. Anders mistakenly said to go back to the intro after the first chorus. In order to play along with the performance video of this song you should do the following: Play INTRO riff twice. Play VERSE riff twice. Play CHORUS riff once. Play VERSE riff twice. Play CHORUS riff once. Then play the OUTRO - this riff is played twice, but the end of the riff is a bit different the second time through.
