The powercord really makes the index finger tired. I have a fairly strong grip, but can't hold that cord for too long. Is there a trick to it?

Hey there - thanks so much for your question! Make sure you are not pressing into the frets too hard to begin with. You only need enough force to make each note sound clean without buzzing. Once you've got that, and you find your index finger getting tired, just take a quick break to reset, then get back to practicing. Eventually you should build up enough stamina holding the chord to keep it fretted for longer durations. Hope this helps!!

How do you put two fingers on two frets at the same time? (like the 6th and 8th fret at the same time)
Mike Olekshy 1 year ago

Hello - thanks so much for your question! Each finger is fretting on a different string. So, for example, you would place your index finger on the 6th fret of the low E string, and then your ring (or pinky) finger on the 8th fret of the A string. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure why but when I play this chord the A string seems to buzz a lot of the time. I'm not sure if I'm the one causing it or there is something wrong with the guitar, so which is it?

Hello - thanks so much for the question! It could be either of those. First - get your fingers holding the first power chord in the example (G5). Now, pick just the note on the A string while you're holding the chord. Is it buzzing? If so - you might not have enough pressure on the fret to make a clean note. So try pressing down on the fret harder to make a clean note. If you cannot get a clean note on the A string no matter what pressure you use, you might need to get your guitar set up properly. Hope this helps!
