Hi, I'm not having any issues with rhythm or chord changes but with strumming with a pick! It's so frustrating, I can play all the lesson examples fine with my fingers but with a pick I over-strum, under-strum, miss the strum ect, it sounds terrible. Aside from just continuing to practice, do you have any tips to get a nice, even strum with a pick?

Hello - thanks so much for your question! The biggest tip I can give is to go slowly! Play the examples with a pick, but much slower at first. This gives you some time to focus on your hand position, gripping the pick, and performing a smooth strum with the pick. Practice this over and over, and you'll find it will start to become more and more comfortable. Keep at it!

I'm struggling to change chords correctly fast enough. Should i keep going practicing this lesson and master it before moving onto the next lesson?

Hello, and thanks so much for the question! Keep practicing the chord changes at a slower tempo (use the speed buttons on the left side of the video frame) where you can make the changes fast enough to keep time. If you do this, then you can move on to the next lesson as well. But keep practicing everything at a slower tempo that is comfortable. If you keep doing this consistently, you will get faster and faster over time.

What does the "mf" on the music sheet mean?

mf= mezzo forte, Italian for moderately loud. Italian has been the default language for written musical notation terms for centuries.
