Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star Pt. 1

I could easily show you a hundred famous melodies that use the notes from the major scale, but in this lesson I'll show you one that almost everyone knows.

Now let's practice this first part of the melody together really slowly. I'll do a one-bar count-in and then we'll play a note for every quarter note, meaning every number I count. Feel free to just watch and listen a couple of times before you start playing along.

Hello - thanks so much for your question and kind words! Yes, learning the notes is definitely going to help you, although it's not absolutely required at this point in the course. If you'd like to start working on it - check out the fretboard diagram: https://www.guitartricks.com/toolbox-assets/fretboard-diagram.pdf Start with the non-sharp or flat notes and try to memorize them. We also have a fretboard training game that is fun to play and can also help: https://www.guitartricks.com/fretboard-trainer
