Now it's time to perform the song with our backing track.

I hope you've had fun learning these embellishments and that it makes sense to you how we use can them. They don't change the basic function of the chord. They only add a little bit of variation within it. Very often you'll be able to use these under the vocal phrases, but they're particularly great to use in between vocal phrases as a little fill as we call it. We explored this concept within three of the most common open chords, and I highly encourage you to try it out with some of the other chords you know. Try out some open strings or add an extra note with your pinkie or ring finger and see what happens.

I found this as hard as the right hand strumming for the arpeggios! It helped me a lot to focus on landing the finger on the lowest string for the chord changes from C >Dm>C and to just sit and practice the repetition.

Hey there - thanks so much for your suggestion! I think many students will appreciate your tip to help get this down. Repetition is indeed the key - just keep working on it - and you'll find it comes easier and easier!
