Description

Now it's time to play through our whole song, up to speed with the backing track.

I hope you've enjoyed this very first introduction to the concept of barre chords, and even though we're using an easier version of the E-major shaped barre chord, I hope you can already now see how useful it is to have a chord shape you can move around freely to play chords with flats and sharps. Maybe you've also noticed that the difference between our easier version and the full barre chord isn't all that significant musically. It's just those two extra notes that make the full barre chord a bit fuller sounding, which can sometimes be great. Eventually you'll have both options under your fingers, but for right now you can get incredibly far with the version we've explored in this tutorial. Have fun with it!
