In this tutorial we're gonna put all your hard work to good use by exploring some of the cool things you can do with the open position major scale pattern. Because even though it's a C major scale it doesn't only sound good with the C major chord. It sounds good with almost all of your open chords and there's so much cool stuff to explore at this exciting intersection between chords and melody.

Remember that this is our first venture into a pretty advanced topic, so stay patient with yourself and don't be frustrated if you need to pause a lesson and spend some extra time with an example before moving on. It's also okay to simplify the example if you need to or even to move ahead without fully mastering it all. Let's get started!

Hi, Maybe start here and continue through until you get what you need. It really helps to learn the major scale up one string, so you can see the half steps and whole steps, more like you can on a piano. https://www.guitartricks.com/lesson/31516
