1st, am very interested in hybrid-type guitars, where you can replicate sounds of an acoustic, electric, or both. Would love to try the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II! Love the tone, but the few Les Paul's I've tried have strings spaced a bit close for my picking style, so am curious if they changed anything in that regard over the last few years.
2nd, would like to be entered into the contest.
3rd, I'm not sure where else to put this, so would like to offer in this thread those products that I'd like to see reviewed:
* Zoom H2 or another handy, portable recorder,
* Line 6 PODxt Live,
* "Band in a Box" software
Thanks!

2 beautiful guitars, but I must say from everything I have read online, especially here......that Les Paul Ultra seems amazing......wish I had the chance to play one myself. Seems to me like my local Guitar Center needs to get more gear in I think. Love the Les Paul style, classic and beautiful all rolled into one guitar.

I recently bought my first electric guitar. Going into the shop my first choice was the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II. I was dismayed to see that all they had was a demo model, not for sale. I walked out with a very nice PRS SE single cut that I am very happy with.
I would still welcome the chance to own an Ultra II.

Please enter me in the contest. These are both cool guitars. I've always wonderd how the Epi's were. Thanks for the review. I think if I don't win one I may go out and get one anyway.

Thank you for the review. I am looking for a new guitar and this review will definitley help me with making my selection. Winning one wouldn't be so bad either.

Sorry about that.
Shipping/customs/tracking are a wreck.
We looked into it, and it just doesn't work financially. In many cases it is $200 to ship a $200 item.
This is before you get into the whole customs thing, which is a problem but I don't even know what kind of problem it is.
Then there are the tax issues....
Sorry.

Not to get you stuck on Epiphones or anything... but I'd also like to see the Epiphone Dot Studio guitar reviewed. A Gibson ES-335 will set you back a couple grand (or more!) but you can get the similar Dot Studio for under $300. I've heard mostly good things about them, but I'd like to know what you guys think! Are they too good to be true???

I'm impressed by Sweetwater's generosity. Both of those guitars are truly sweet. I'd love to win either (but I've been fiending for a Studio for a long time).

All I can say is that of the few recent epiphones that I have played they are making an excellent quality guitar for the money!!

I tried many years back to buy an epiphone les paul and actually found all I could do was order one and then the shop said I had to buy it. So I spent all my savings on a beautiful black Gibson LP standard and have never regretted a penny. This guitar just gets better the more I play it. If these epiphones are half the guitar my Gibson is then they are great!
There is quite a lot of guitar snobbery (I was one and probably still am) but basically it comes do to 2 things how you play and the musician playing the guitar. For me, the guitar does all the work - if I play something that sounds great it usually because it's being played on my LP - there are other guitarist that seem to always make a great sound on anything (not me I'm afraid). I certainly have more equipment than talent - but hey I'm over 40 so that's allowed!
So more practice, more tricks etc for me.
I'd love to win one of these epiphone models for my son - he's a pianist but is also a Playstation guitar hero rock god - if he can do that one a playstation I bet he could really rock on a real guitar
