I tried many years back to buy an epiphone les paul and actually found all I could do was order one and then the shop said I had to buy it. So I spent all my savings on a beautiful black Gibson LP standard and have never regretted a penny. This guitar just gets better the more I play it. If these epiphones are half the guitar my Gibson is then they are great!

There is quite a lot of guitar snobbery (I was one and probably still am) but basically it comes do to 2 things how you play and the musician playing the guitar. For me, the guitar does all the work - if I play something that sounds great it usually because it's being played on my LP - there are other guitarist that seem to always make a great sound on anything (not me I'm afraid). I certainly have more equipment than talent - but hey I'm over 40 so that's allowed!

So more practice, more tricks etc for me.

I'd love to win one of these epiphone models for my son - he's a pianist but is also a Playstation guitar hero rock god - if he can do that one a playstation I bet he could really rock on a real guitar
