Yeah, I have that "Les Paul envy" too. So SEND me the Ultra II, PLEASE !! I love the action, low, and the sustain, high. And it's cool to be able to take it down to "quiet and mellow," with the acoustic pick-up. No more fake-sounding "stomp-box acoustic" sound !

Hey everyone,
I have had, and still do own a couple of Epi rigs. The first is a Silverburst Les Paul that i absolutly loved right out of the box. The other is a SG-400 Flame top.Was an O.K. guitar when i first got it but had some action problems. Took it to my best Guitar Tech and had him work his Magik on it. And now, it plays great too. Thats the thing about Epi guitars, Some times you get lucky and get a great axe right out of the box, and some times you need to give it a little love. That said , from all of the other reviews ive read, The Epi Les PaulII Ultra is a great guitar. And I would love to win this one.
Thankz G.T. for the opportunity

Wow if i win one of these I'll totally crap my pants. Metaphorically. Anyway I would really like to hear that "acoustic" neck pickup.. I think that's a cool idea. I'm gonna go look for that model at my local music shop this week just to see what it's all about.

I really enjoyed your reviews. I've been learning my acoustic last six months and have had my eye set on moving on to electric. I really appreciate reading a "real" person take on a guitar.

I had a late 60's black Less Paul Custom that I sold in the late 70's. One of the most regretable things I've ever done. I'd sure like to have one again.

Sounds like they are great guitars. Hopefully you will get a chance to review the Epiphone SG guitars - I would love to get some opinions on them, I've been wanting one of those for awhile.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a sweet guitar!

It seems like LPs were the guitar for British Rock in the mid- late 60's (well, SGs played a big role too). I'm glad to see that they are making a well- deserved comeback. Epihones ( or Epiphany as Alex Chilton calls them ) have come a long way as well. Good luck to everyone!

I have an Epi SG. It's the cheapest model available but it has a great feel and seems pretty solid. The electronics are a little weak, but still pretty good for an instrument in the price range. I bought it with the intention of dropping in some active pickups anyway, probably some EMG's. (81 and 85). An Epiphone LP would be awesome. I have played a couple in the music stores and was impressed by their quality and playability. I taught my son to play and He would really appreciate getting my SG, even though it would be a hand-me-down! Thanks for the chance to win such a cool guitar!

I have both an Epi and a Gibson SG Supreme and I love 'em both!
The Epi plays as well as the Gibson and sounds almost identical--I can reccomend either!

 I used to own a Black/Gold-Hardware "Les Paul Custom" ['58 Fretless Wonder]. The tone was Really Dark, and-- it was Heavy-to have strapped on all night, for 5 hours, backin' Go-Go dancers and Strippers! --"At The Nudie Bar,-- Where they water the Drinks an' the Music Stinks." {Quote by Al Bundy} I picked up a '70 ES 335, and it gave me the SOUND I wanted, w/o breakin' my back. BEFORE that Paul became worth Really STUPID MONEY. '84 or so, I traded it for an ORIGINAL Epi. Casino. [E330],w/Bigsby, in almost Mint Cond., :) which I still have. I would Love to win a new Epi Les Paul, just to record guitar trax on my GNX4s CF cards, to jam and perform with. "Geezer Rock Rules."-- Th' Wildmann ;)
