Description

Now let’s try an A Minor shaped bar chord.

We are still rooted on the 5th string (A) and you’ll notice that even though this is a minor chord, its shape looks very much like the E Major shape. As such, to take it out of open position we can use the same fingering process as we did with the E Major shape.

Let’s slide that up to the 5th fret and we’ll play D minor. Remember to keep as good of form as possible with your hand placement. Again, if we keep this shape consistent and move it up and down the fretboard we can play all 12 possible minor chords.
