Description
The use of open strings against chords has always allowed for a fuller sound on the acoustic guitar. John Mayer demonstrates this well with his combination of good chord voicings mixed with strong song-writing. This example utilizes open strings against a set of chord changes with a 6/8 strumming pattern. By using the open strings against the chords in the key of E major, the progression breathes a new life that without would not sound as full and rich.
