The song takes a bit of a breather in the breakdown, and it features two guitar parts playing single notes that add some nice texture and tension to the section:

A: Set your amp for a clean tone with some reverb to add depth to the sound. I used a hall reverb preset with the wet/dry set to 35%. Note how you are playing the 5ths of the F and G chords and then the major 3rd of the C chord with the open high E string.

B: Use the crunch rhythm sound you've already dialed in for the other guitar parts. Be sure to mute these notes tightly and work to make the notes steady and consistent, locking in with the drums. Notice how you move from the C to the B note under the G chord - that's the major 3rd note in a G chord.
