Description
To get the authentic guitar sound featured in this tune, use a guitar with a humbucker in the bridge position. It will give you an aggressive powerful attack with clarity. As far as amplifiers, any Marshall type tube amp with plenty of crunchy gain will work; you're going to want plenty of gain, so a distortion/overdrive pedal out front will help if your amp won't give you enough. Try to choose a gain voicing with a nice bump in the midrange. A tube screamer through an already gained up amp works nicely.
In the following lessons, we'll talk about power chord shapes, palm muting, octaves, and playing a tight 8th note rhythm. As always, we urge you to experiment with these concepts in your playing and writing to help develop your own style on the guitar.
