Description
A really cool way to spice up your riffs is by using octaves to play melodic motifs over a chord progression. This song is no exception, employing octaves to add another texture to the tune. You find the octave shapes you need by using the power chord shapes but without the 5th note in between. Curl your index finger over the middle string to dampen it so it will not ring out while you play. In this case you strum these wide open with no muting.
