talented? so would that come down to the technical ability of the musicians in the band? or are we including the overall quality of the bands songs?
Dragonforce are a talented band, all of the individuals are pretty awesome at what they do, but all of their songs are very same-ish.
Wheras in dio, each of the musicians is talented, with varying songs, pretty good guitar solos (courtesy of my good friend vivian campbell and more recently craig goldy) and rumbling bass lines, oh, and dont forget the singing, thats pretty impressive too! ;) And the drummer (the current one originally from a band called a to z (betting on no-one knowing them) who then went to dc but wasnt challenged enough.) full stop. \was anyone else lucky enough to catch them on their recent tour?? :D

Your right. I always eff up the lyrics :(

I think it's easily their best though.

Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

Hmm, maybe, but Dio always seemed to be more or less the same as Judas Priest to me - I'd rather just listen to Priest.

I'd rather listen to neither...I hate Priest...Dio is alright...well, Rainbow in the dark is cool.

I'd say Rush is the most talented band ever.

I would have to go with dream theater, symphony x, or ELP. Too many talented bands to choose from though

Next time try going minimal enter-pressing. I thought there was supposed to be a picture there or something, but I was dead wrong. Just spaces.

Now that that's taken care of, why Radiohead? Explain, if you will.

Radiohead because,

Thom yorke = Ive never heard anything as remotely beautifull and as emotionally powerfull as Thoms voice, he can do choir boy sweetness, and he can punk it up with the best of 'em, he's so diverse but everything he attemps just raises the bar imo..

Jonny greenwood = Amazingly gifted guitarist mutli-influenced but totlally unique too, great songwriter, he can arrange orchestral pieces and string quartets as good as someone who specializes in that field,
Knowledge of a gizmo's and equipment is staggering, he also plays the piano,
xylophone, Ondes Martinot (sp*), harmonica and he is allways finding new instruments and gear to learn...

As for the rest of the band. they are just really intune with each other
and the sonic backdrops they create gives radiohead their diversity and
unique flavour to each of there songs let alone album..

Radiohead have changed and developed like no other band i can think of,
with out sacrificing musical quality, or their integrity..

Its not just me who thinks that either, people from Brian May to Eric Clapton
Paul McCartney...
and most of the bands that are out now (especially british bands....like muse,
coldplay,travis...ect) and also bands like System of a down love Radiohead..

Lots and lots of people/bands agree (even if they dont like them that much)

Theres just no denying how staggeringly good they are...in the same league as the Beatles, floyd, queen,U2.... they are thee band of the last 10 years..

Btw... The Flaming lips??!

I had a listen to them a while back just because Thom Yorke likes them...
Very un-impressed if im honest...maybe i need to give them another listen though, so i definatley wouldnt diss them (im sure they are very talented ;) )

Oh, and sorry for the spaces in my post, im new here...whats 'bad' on one site is the 'done thing' on another....

As far as I'm concerned Radiohead simply forgot to put a melody in their music. It's something I can listen to in the background, but if I wanted to listen to music based on Harmonic emotion and movement, I'd listen to Debussy or Richard Strauss. Flaming Lips are simply Radiohead with an actual tune.

I previously gave my vote for most talented band to my favourite band, Pink Floyd - but I'm thinking about changing it to The Doors. Every one of those guys was an amazing musician, particularly Ray Manzarek the keyboardist. I've always liked Robbie Krieger, too.

As for Radiohead, the only album of theirs that I've listened to is OK Computer, and I thought that was very good.

Far fewer people hate Axl's singing than his personality.
