I realize that. My problem is with the expression, which I feel is completely inappropriate. Rape is not humourous on any level, and using it as a metaphor makes me feel ill.

I'm not trying to bait you into an argument, you know we go way back. However, the definition of rape isn't strictly limited to a forced sexual act.

You know what? I just looked it up, and it seems that my understanding of the term was limited simply to forced sexual acts. However, I think that that's what most people think of when they hear the term. That's why I find the coinage of the term "raped" to mean simply taken advantage of or violated inappropriate. It's another example of society's desensitization being reflected in language (e.g. "suicide", "cancer" being used as terms in sports).

Anyways, I guess I stand corrected. I think.
