Oftentimes when we solo we don’t pay a lot of attention to the chords that are happening underneath, and that’s sometimes a part of the sound, because our minor pentatonic notes hit differently over the different chords, which is surprising and inspiring. Sometimes however it can be powerful to add some chord tones that specifically outline the chord as it’s happening creating an extra powerful harmonic momentum. For this backing track that works extremely well over the final V-chord, so now we’ll explore a lick that ends up with some epic some G major chord tones.
