Strumming With a Swing Feel

Description

In this lesson we'll try applying the swing feel to our 16th note based strumming pattern. Swung subdivisions is exactly the same for 16th notes as it is for 8th notes, only now we have 4 swung subdivisions per quarter note.

Let's try this in an example. We'll start out with 2 bars of ghost strumming and then we'll start the progression with 2 bars on an E major chord for 2 bars. Then we'll go to D major for 2 bars. Then we'll go to A7 for 2 bars. And finally to C major for 2 bars.

Now let's try this out with the backing track. Start out playing along with me and try to match my swing feel. Once you've done that, make sure you go try it on your own and experiment with the lighter vs. heavier swing feel.
