In the previous lesson we learned how to play basic trills using whole steps, using our index and ring fingers. Now let's look at some other intervals that we can trill with, using different fingers.
First we'll do up and down trills in half steps. This means we'll be using our index and middle fingers. We'll start on a C note at the 5th fret of the G string, and do our upward trill by picking the C with our index finger, then hammer-on the Db note at the 6th fret of the G string.
Then we'll do a downward trill, starting on the same C note, but with our middle finger. Then we'll play a B note a half step below at the 4th fret of the G string, and trill between them.
You can use minor thirds with the pinky, major thirds too - you can try all kinds of combinations of fingers and intervals with trills.
