Description
Hi everyone, this is Sharon Aguilar for Guitar Tricks, and in this set of lessons we're going to learn about trills.
A trill is a form of legato playing using a series of rapid hammer-on's and pull-off's between two notes, in which you only pick the first note. Trills are an ornamental technique used specifically to add color and expression to musical phrases - melodies and motifs, improvised lead and solo lines, and so forth.
A trill can move up or down from that first note, and be played using different intervals using different fingers. Trills can also be played in different rhythms, depending on the musical style, tempo, and time signature.
