Description
As far as guitars go, any electric guitar will work fine for the parts used in this tune. The tones have more to do with the amps and effects used.
As far as amps go, any vintage style tube amp such as a Fender Deluxe is a great choice. Set the amp for slight overdrive when you dig into the notes and chords, but still stays clean for light picking.
There is a subtle rotary speaker effect used on guitar 1's parts, and some heavy chorusing used in guitar 4's solo. You'll also want to soak guitar 4 in some nice reverb for depth. Check out the settings I used:
Fender Deluxe Model: Drive: 60% Bass: 25% Mid: 45% Treble: 55% Presence: 60%
Rotary Speaker FX: Guitar 1: Speed: Fast Wet/DryMix: 45%
Chorus: Guitar 4 (solo): Rate 75% Depth 50% Wet/DryMix: 50%
Reverb (Guitar 4): Plate Reverb 70%
