Description

The verses feature an acoustic guitar strumming away, adding a nice "chimey" bed for the heartfelt vocals. There's a 3 bar piano intro (one of the bars is 2/4, more on that later) at which point the acoustic guitar comes in on the 1 chord of A major.

Note the strumming pattern: quarter notes with some 16th note syncopations giving the part a natural feel. Remember not to be too aggressive with your strums; this is a tender, emotional tune, so keep your strums even and balanced - not too hard, not too soft.

Note the recurring 2/4 bar, which is at the 4th bar of each vocal stanza. I've found it's easiest to count it this way. The 2/4 bar appears twice in each verse and twice in each chorus.

The acoustic guitar remains strumming away through the entire tune, so be sure to consult the following lessons to learn the chord progression for all remaining sections.
