Description
If you haven't been playing for very long the thought of playing metal might seem a bit overwhelming, and while it's true that it is often very technically demanding, you can come a long way just by learning the basics.
The basic skills you need to learn are how to form power chords and how to palm mute while playing them.
Plenty of distortion and humbucker pickups on your guitar will make you sound heavy. Single coil pickups work fine too, but you will have to crank up the distortion even more.
If you're wondering why it looks like I'm using my neck pickup in the videos it's because my pickup selector is reversed. So I'm really using my bridge pickup, which usually works best for riffs.
