Description
One of the first concepts to introduce when talking about Jazz Blues is the "quick change." Up until this point you have been playing a "slow change" style 12 Bar Blues form; meaning you stay on the I chord for the first 4 bars of the progression. WIth a "quick change," we will play the IV chord on the 2nd bar of the form. This creates a nice subtle variety to your 12 Bar Blues. Let's take a look at how to play a "quick change" in the key of Bb to begin exploring this.
