In this tutorial we’re going to study the guitar tone & playing style of the legendary blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Vaughan’s guitar playing style and music has crossed many decades and inspired players to learn about the blues of the past, bringing those traditions to the present and expand on them into the future! Vaughan was directly influenced the early blues legends of Texas and the Mississippi Delta. He took cues from all the greats and built a style and repertoire of his own. The result was an accomplished blues performer that became a legend in his own right.
Today we’ll study Vaughan’s style by breaking it down into several key factors, see what makes it special, and then learn to play some licks in his style!
