Now let's look at the chorus of our song. The chords here are F, G, C-G, Am; then F, G, C-G, and F.

The chorus opens using an unexpected F chord (b6); the vocal stretches, and works its way up slowly and becomes even more intense as the hook is delivered in the first 4 bars. The second 4 bars ride the descending slope of the arc and drop the dynamics back down to transition back into the verse.

We continue with our basic picking pattern, for the first time in the song we have two chords dividing one bar in the third bar of our chord pattern from a C chord to a G chord. We'll want to reflect that in our right hand by using the fifth string bass while we are playing the C chord, and then as we continue our pattern the sixth string bass for the G chord.
