Big difference is going to be pick ups or specifically the bridge pick up. The bridge is a Bill Lawrence pick up. Dime was a fan of Bill Lawrence's. If the CFH is mounted to a Dime specification (and I don't see any reason it shouldn't), the hotter pole in the humbucker is in the front position of the bridge pick up. Meaning that the hot pole is not closest to the bridge. I think it is what have his tone that fat kinda deal.

Two big differences that I see; pick ups (again) and a little bit in contruction.

Versus the Dean, the ESP has EMG's. It has an '81' model powered pick up and a '60' non-powered pick up. Most of the focus os on the 81. EMG powered pick ups are made to push more signal to the amp just like the Lawrence pick up. The idea is that a hotter, more powerful pick up with push the amp harder and give those cool overdriven overtones metal/rock players dig. The EMG does it more cleanly. In a way, a non-powered hot pick effects the cleanness of the sound. With the EMG, your send a clean, even powered sound to push the amp which should, in theory, given a truer sound. I like EMG's and have had them on guitars before for that reason. I like that I get to set the tonal character of my sound and not have to work with the 'personality' of a hot wound 'non-powered' pick up. Not everyone agrees though. Zakk Wylde is a long time EMG user.

The other differences is slight in construction. Overall, both bodies are mahogony so they will have similar sound. The ESP does have a maple cap on top of the mahagony body (a la a Les Paul) which is suggested to bring a greater density to the wood make up and better sustain (..."Can you hear that sustain"..."No"..."You would if I was playing it"...ok, that was for me..hehe).

Hope that little bit helps.

Ha ha :D Not to digress, but I think the maple cap is also for tone. It gives a bit more snap than a solid mahogany. ...At least that is the theory.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Alright again haha it's insane, but hey I'm trying to find the right guitar so another guitar battle the ESP Eclipse 1000 FR and the Dean ML ATF3000 now just to kinda refine the sound I want from the guitar i want it to kinda have that thick massive almost in a way warmish I would call it sound like Dimebag Darrell , but to have nice clean sounds it be a bit attacky and stuff if any of that makes sense i guess i should just say I would like a mix of Dimebag Darrell's sound and a Zakk Wylde kinda sound if it's even possible so yeah hopefully I explained it well

The ML ATF3000 is a pretty guitar. I would wonder about the tone of the Baker pick up. It might not be fat enough for you. It's a great pick but I seem to feel that it keys of note definition in a sense that it may not have that roaring chunk you're looking for.

From the tome you said your looking for, getting something with EMG's might be a pretty good way to go. Have both the chunk when needed and the defined clean sound is one of the key traits of an EMG.

Alright so can't you do the whole routing thing for active pickups in a guitar with out them just in case i end up wanting the ATF3000 because of looks I'm not sure but i almost seem to remember hearing you could and for a neck pickup in case i end up getting the ATF3000 and replacing the pickups with passive ones for a neck pickup which would be better for the sound i want? The Dimarzio Air Norton, the DMT Time Capsule pickup in it, or the Rockfield Mafia Neck pickup
