I used to watch movies all the time, but have gone a pretty good while without watching much, until just recently. I've been watching movies left and right for the past 2 months or so, and have seen some good ones, and some not so good ones. I'm just curious as to what all ya'll have seen this year (doesn't have to have been released this year), and what you thought about it, WITHOUT GIVING AWAY ANY SPOILERS!!!!

Here's a list of the movies that I've seen this year, and what I thought about them...

Aeon Flux - entertaining, overall pretty good
Grandma's Boy - very funny!
The Island - pretty good
War Of The Worlds - was worth watching, but not as good as expected
Wedding Crashers - very good movie, and very funny!
Exorcism of Emily Rose - I'd give it one and a half thumbs up
Final Destination 3 - best one so far
Hostel - good movie, and pretty gory if you like that sort of thing
Saw II - very good! can't wait to see Saw III
Silent Hill - very good horror+suspense thriller
The Hills Have Eyes - same story line as Wrong Turn... not too bad
A History Of Violence - enjoyable, but nothing special
Poseidon - way better than I expected
The Ring Two - about as lame as the first one IMO
Ultraviolet - I thought this was going to be a knock off of Aeon Flux, but it was much better if you ask me
V For Vendetta - a very good movie
Click - this really surprised me at how good of a movie this was
Failure To Launch - fun to watch
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - pretty good, lots of witty banter
Pirates Of The Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest - another great one
The Longest Yard - I never saw the original, but I really enjoyed this one
Serenity - a nice sci-fi movie
Transporter 2 - lots of action to keep you on your toes
Half Light - slow going, but decent
An American Haunting - based on a true story, and the family is supposed to have moved to a town just 30 miles up the road from me... a pretty good movie
Fragile - this one was ok, but nothing special at all
Monster-in-Law - if you like Jello... I mean, J-Lo, you'll like this one... it was pretty entertaining, and I enjoyed it
X-Men: The Last Stand - another great X-Men movie
Clerks 2 - doesn't top the first one, but was still a must see for a Clerks fan
The Da Vinci Code - this movie was way way too long, but pretty enjoyable
The Benchwarmers - this was a good "feel good" type of movie
Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector - typical LTCG stuff, so if you dont' like him, you won't like this movie, but if you do, then you might and might not like it... I enjoyed it, but it might have just been because of the mood I was in when I watched it
Beerfest - Every beer drinker should watch this movie!
Pulse - pretty good, but not as good as I was expecting
Superman Returns - I really liked this one, and was glad to see that it wasn't a remake, and the guy who played Superman actually did a pretty good job
Talladega Nights - how could anyone not like this movie? I thought it was hilarious.

Wow, that's quite a bit. I used to watch a lot of movies when I worked at Blockbuster a long time ago, but not so much anymore.

A few I did see:
Flags of Our Fathers-emotional at times and incredible battle scenes, but the plotline is a tad fragmented between multiple timelines and characters. Still a moving picture with fresh perspective on WWII and our placement of heroes.
Batman Begins-maybe not new, but I just watched recently...better than any other of the series, with not much in common stylewise. Wouldn't mind a sequel of this new beginning, to which they hinted to of course.
Star Wars Ep 3-again, just got around to watching finally. I mildly like this epic series, but this one didn't hold the suspension of disbelief for me. Maybe too over the top at times, with mediocre acting.
The Breakup-my wife chose this one, and hey Jennifer Anniston seems to always show nip while Vince Vaughn is funny...but neither could save this flick. Horrible, and my wife agreed!
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation-came on a few days ago, but I'll still put it on again on Christmas Eve. Total classic!

weird i've been on endless movie marathons myself..here's to name a few

Crank- that kept me on the edge of my seat at all times...fast paced action involved...
Devil wears Prada-this movie surprised me..i thought it was some chic flick but it turned out pretty good..
Saw 3 - mediocre...messy plot i feel..saw 2 was the best imo
The Black Dahlia - love that movie...
Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels - MUST WATCH...friggin hilarious english movie
Napoleon dynamite - was good tho it tends to stretch out for too long in some parts (or maybe i was half asleep wheni was watching)
Accepted - another teenage college-ish kinda movie but with a fresh (in a far' fetched kinda way) idea...fun i'd say
Lonely hearts - that was good
Casino royale - it was oooook...got me in the english accent mood for quite abit

thats abt it as far as i can remember for now...

War Of The Worlds - Tom Cruise loves Katie Holmes like Steven Spielberg loves adding happy nonsense to endings. The ending from the book was fine, but this...they look like they just came out of a shoot for Vogue magazine, not a friggin ALIEN ATTACK!

Wedding Crashers - Pretty damn funny.

Exorcism of Emily Rose - I'd give it one and a half thumbs...in MY EYES.

Hostel - First thirty minutes = hot euro chicks. Last hour and a half = unnecessary banality.

Saw II - I can't believe I "saw" this. Ok, you know all the death contraptions in these movies? I'd rather be IN one than have to watch any of the three.

The Hills Have Eyes - random mutant rape scene. That is all.

V For Vendetta - I hated that poem. The movie was decent enough, though.

Pirates Of The Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest - please, for GOD'S SAKE, HIRE AN EDITOR IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A LONG, HORRIBLE FILM WITHOUT ONE.

X-Men: The Last Stand - Let's pull down our pants a drop a steaming load on the X-men storyline!

Clerks 2 - I agree with PRSplaya most wholeheartedly. Though this did, sadly, rely more on gross-out comedy than the first.

Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector - Do not ****ing subject yourself to this.

Superman Returns - Ok, Superman... great acting, fantastic action, and Kevin Spacey is THE best Lex Luthor I have ever seen. Oh but wait, we forgot to put in a plot... Let's just throw in some **** about Luthor growing a continent out of crystals. This should have been called "Superman InContinent."

gee... why don't you tell us what you really think

Are there any movies that you actually DO have something good to say about? Or, can you do nothing but be negative since you haven't been laid in a while :p

and I agree... Spacey was the BEST Luthor yet!

The only one that stands out for me is Serenity.
Mainly cause I was hooked on Firefly and just about anything else Jos Whedon did, like Buffy and Angel. Excellent director. Love the 'one shots' where they have the actors do like, a 10 minute acting job without any edited cuts in the action.
Also, Summer Gau is hot. :)

My brother and I go to Best Buy almost once a week on tues/weds to see the new dvd releases. Even if theres nothing we want to pick up from there, we always see something else that looks worthy to pickup. I usually browse the horror section cause God I love horror movies. Mabey a little later I'll give some input on movies I saw this year. Too many to recall in the mourning

I didnt see that many movies, but the only important one,and believe me, it's more important than all of the other movies listed here...comibined.

Anchorman- Wow! Thats Amazing...perhaps the best movie in the world...ever! There are just so many one-liners! and it gets funnier each time you watch it.

If you havent seen this movie, doint die! go straight to your local video store, rent it, watch it...then die at will

I forgot to mention my HIGH recommendations for Green Street Hooligans... especially to all of our friends that are in countries where soccer is rightfully called football. haha. It's a movie about a kid that goes to England and joins a soccer hooligan club called the Green Street Elite... It's an awwwwwesome movie... Not just for the fighting and everything but the writing is awesome and it's a pretty good story of finding ones self as well...

Check it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1a3OwI799og

I think it might be called "The Yank" overseas.
