I do that all the time without even realizing it. I say "garbaahsh" constantly. Another thing I do is put foreign words for "the" in front of the regular English pronunciation of things, such as "answer los phone" or "I am making les soup."

I blame TV.

When french people say "close the light" instead of "turn off the light", or "I'm gonna throw this." instead of "throw this away".

I speak spanglish all the time. I used to work with this mexican guy, and he knew only a little english, and so he spoke spanglish too. and between his spanglish and my spanglish, and a dash of charades, we could actually carry out entire conversations. Like the one were he asked me if I liked to smoke pot. ha ha

My Spanish knowledge is on a "Dora the Explorer" level...

And if you think the French are messed up with the way their sentences translate... try going through a day and take every sentence that is said in English literal... we have so much slang that i'm surprized anyone can learn our language, because nothing is ever what it literally means.

ie.. What are you up to? He went off on him. and there are lots more but its too early to think of anymore... lol

Seriously, I'm justa high school kid who took on a weekend job to make some spending money. You have families, and this job is your one source of income.

I SHOULD NOT BE WORKING THE SAME AMOUNT OF/MORE DAYS THAN YOU!!!!! GAAAAHHHH!!!!

Dude you seem to have one big brown chip on your shoulder! If your culture was so fantastic millions would'nt be fleeing over the border (ILLEGALLY I might add) due to the corruption and lousy economic conditions down south.

My pet peeve is when people come into a harmless thread and pull the race card crying racism. When there is none! In my fifty years I have found those who are the first to cry racism are generally the biggest racist's themselves. Living here in SoCal I see "your culture" everyday and a fair part of it is already "messed up" All Im sayin dude is give your racist garbage a rest. People come to these forums for enjoyment not your La Raza agenda.

You seem to be confusing culture with politics and economics. Mexican culture deals with such issues as pinatas and kickass music, whereas political and economic factors are the primary causes of corruption, poverty, and organized crime (which is big in Mexico). People don't come to the United States because they no longer love burritos, Cinco de Mayo, and sombreros, they do it because living in a district without running water and trying to support a family by working at a factory 14 hours a day is not a healthy or fulfilling life.

Hey guys it is not my intention to start a problem here. From what Ive read the race card was injected over a comment about the phone option for english or spanish earlier in this thread, which is a valid and harmlees niggle the poster cited. Ive seen many of Magic's posts and yea he is very helpful, I just felt he really didnt need to take the thread in that direction. While he was jokeing about "stop messin with my culture" it seemed like he was trying to keep the race thing going. Yea Magic I am as American as they come and my great grandparents were immigrants who went through unspeakable hell to get here to become Americans.

Bottom line I come here for the music, hell I even pay to come here LOL and not to start trouble. While I rarely ever browse the general discussion I happened on this thread and I stated my opinion on what I had read. So now we have all stated our opinions, guess the next best thing is to get on with our regularly scheduled El threado.
