Had to bring back this old thread.

When people mees with your ****. My buddie came over earlier and he was on my computer. So he felt it was his obligation (without me knowing) to change my background picesure. I had this nice mellow picture of a lake at dusk with a crescent moon. This really irritates the hell out of me, cause he's done it before. Every time he gets on there he feels the need to reorganize my music files or some **** like that. Its my commputer dammit, I don't have it setup to accomodate you.

Sorry, ahd to let that rant out. Now I'm off to find that picture again since it wasn't saved on my computer and I forget where I got it from.

I'm wondering how it is that you allowed this dip**** to have this kind of access to your 'puter. Especially since he has previously shown no regard for your personal preferences. WAKE UP!!

Just break a couple of his fingers. He won't do it again.

Break all of 'em... just to be sure...

Like LATS said, don't let him on it man... or if you can - create him his own login and don't give him access to your stuff. You could stop him changing settings in his own login.

I like the violent option, but the second idea takes it away for good, and costs you 5 minutes...

Hm... well, in my group of friends here's what would happen... and I'm not joking.

My friend gets on my computer and changes my stuff the first time: I tell him not to do it ever again or he's getting lit on fire...

My friend changes my stuff on my computer again: I get a spray bottle and fill it with lighter fluid and a lighter to for a make-shift flame thrower... then I "throw" flames at the back of his head...

Either that or I would shoot him in the feet with an airsoft gun while he's sleeping.... both are acceptable forms of punishment for being a douche bag in my circle of friends.

Yeah man... you better get use to that because it doesn't stop when you're a senoir in high school. You've got the many Thanksgiving and Christmas break trips back home to look forward to... When you see people you haven't seen since high school and you're forced to have the awkward "How are you, how's school?" conversation. So yeah, better get use to that one... it's only just begun!! haha.

Well, I share the computer with my 2 brothers, so I have it set to automatically login to the adminstrator. Its not like you have to go through lots of menus, just a right then left click to change the background. What really ticked me off that it was some bands album art that was bright and eye peircing. I just like a good ole mellow picture of dark scenery that doesn't have words on it.

IMO, we all know/knew what we wanted to do the rest of our lives, we just have to think of the most logical route to take according to where were at now.

You may be right, I always knew I wanted to play guitar for a living - it just took a long time for me to feel confident enough to say it out loud.

I'm now 30, and my parents are still waiting for me to grow up and 'do something with my life'... They may be waiting sometime unless they one day figure out that I am already...

Just tell 'em you want to be a doctor/lawyer/accountant/something that shuts them up freeing your time to figure it out for real...

You have to accept the fact that some people mature slower than others and some never mature at all. It's tough but you almost have to develop a keen sense of detachment in certain situations and a finely honed sense of the absurd to get through this life. :)

They dont write they just want to change around mine

Here is some of what I write.

Always running in your mind / Never want to be left behind
Let the bullets of fear fly / Just around your corner of your time
The empty rooms ring your heavy breath / As the cold travels down your neck
Sounds you hear are not of this life / Suck you in like a sacrifice

Every time I've ever written songs with a group of people or even one person... I've been pretty willing to compromise the lyrics of a song that I write for the sake of the group project... Unless the suggestions that they've offered up are horrible, then I'll just let them know that they're an idiot and we would move along with the writing process.

In a band situation though I think a lot of times other band members will offer up ideas just to seem like they're "doing their part". I understand it can be frustrating to have others want to change your lyrics up... but that's just something that comes with being in a band. You wouldn't want to play a song that you weren't content with just like they wouldn't want to play a song that they're not content with. The best thing to do is to address the issue as a group. Tell them that it bothers you and get it out... It's never good to hold stuff like that in and let it come to a boil. Let them know how you feel and maybe they'll be more likely to think twice about their lyric critiques and changes before they suggest them... rahter than just throwing everything out there.

A band writing process is a lot different than a solo writing process though... It's a lot less productive unless you really click with the other people... and in that case you rarely disagree heavily on lyrics...

I hate it when people offer up stupid ideas though... that's the worse. If you're going to change my lyrics, try not to change it to something gay

Oh man, I hear that one 110%.

I was gonna resurrect this thread the other day because I had a new one, but now I can't remember it.

Hmm....maybe it was memory loss.
