Muting Techniques & Tricks

In this lesson we'll look at picking hand muting techniques from the perspective of beginner skill level.

We'll discuss three important picking hand muting techniques.

1. Palm muting to mute strings.

2. Ring & pinky fingers to mute strings.

3. Thumb & thumb pad to mute strings.

Another important point to remember that it's necessary to learn how to mute with both hands. Depending on the music that you are playing at any given time you'll want to have both hands ready to mute!
