What is a 'Power Chord'?

Next Lesson
In this set of lessons, we'll learn about the powerful Power Chord, and how to use it to make music up the neck of the guitar.
Despite it's big name, a Power Chord uses only three strings!
And, it uses only one shape. Once your fingers learn to make that chord shape, and you are able to focus your playing on just the lowest 3 strings of the guitar, all you have to do then is slide that chord-shape from one spot on the neck to another.
