Description
Today I'll be using my Stratocaster, but of course you can use these exercises on any guitar. From the guitar, we'll go straight into the recording device and avoid any amps or amp simulation. This is called a "D.I" or direct tone.
The idea is to keep the tone somewhat boring and uninspiring, so that we stay focused on the workout we're here to do. As I've mentioned earlier, the D.I. tone has been used a lot on recordings, but rarely in a rock context.
