Strummed 8th Notes

Since eighth notes are extremely common in rock music, it's important to have more than one way to play them. In this lesson I'll show you another very useful way to strum eighth notes in a rock context.

what position does your hand has to be in while you mute? It hurts when i strum quickly and after a while I can't play. It feels strange any other position.

Hello - thanks so much for your question! Lay your fretting hand lightly and comfortably across all 6 strings without much pressure. You only need just enough pressure to keep the strings from ringing. This should not hurt at all. If it hurts, perhaps you are applying pressure. Hope this helps!
