You Have Reached A Full Access Section

The tune starts off with an instantly recognizable riff that leads into the verse section. Start with an open A minor chord, and note the strumming pattern here: one strum on the root note then a raking strum across the higher strings. The strum itself is what makes this riff iconic.

Adding in the bass climb (low E string then G note) also adds a touch of difficulty to the riff, so be sure to practice this figure slowly and burn it into your muscle memory. Once this tune gets going, it runs at quite a clip, so make sure you have the riff down correctly at a slower speed before upping the tempo.

Watch out for those shots on the E chord at the end of each cycle through the progression. Note that the band doesn't do the shots the first time through the solo section, so keep the same rhythm when playing that E chord.
