What do you think about Boss Gt-6, guitar effects processor? Does it worth it?
It has the effect ot the Boss Mt-2 pedal.. but..
does it equals the sound of it???
And after I finish all of them, I will be the..... hummm... sorry, I didn't know you were there..

Well - i have tried it. I personally do not like the new synthetic distortions that sound so extremely sharp. I prefer my good old Digitech RP7 and my ART SGX2000 - both use a combination of tube and transistor and they produce the tone that i want. the cool thing is, that the boss offers tonns of effects - useful and useless ones - however - for the price you get a pretty cool effectsboard with the gt6 - not my taste though.

Yes, the BOSS GT-6 is better than the MT-2.

One thing that you just reminded me of, Azrael, is one pet peeve that I had with the GT-6. There's no completely clean channel. You can't have a pure signal travelling from your guitar to the GT-6 to your amp without it getting processed somehow, whether it's chorus, delay, compression, etc.

I think that's one of the main reasons (along with cost and simplicity to use) that I went with bunch of pedals instead of the GT-6.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

Marty Freidman (ex Megadeth lead guitarist) is know for using MT-2 , on his site he says he only uses the GT-6 now.

iamthe_eggman - what do you mean by no clean channel ? I have the GT-3 , and if you turned all the effects off , you get the pure exact sound of your amp .

But... Can I get the same sound of the MT-2 with the GT6?
I've heard that the pedals sound better than the Effects Processors... Is this true?
And after I finish all of them, I will be the..... hummm... sorry, I didn't know you were there..

Hmmm... how do you turn all the effects off? Did you need to create a new patch that had no effects on it? I was not able to figure out how to make a completely clean signal with the GT-6, and read similar comments on the GT-6 Yahoo group forum.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

In the GT-3 , you can turn the effect off by clicking it's button twice , or clicking it once and switching it off from inside by the value button... Then you can save that into a patch.

I'm not sure, but I can't believe that they've removed such things that makes the unit versatile from the GT-6 , it's like going back instead of forward.

If you still have the GT-6 , plz confirm . :)

Nah, Sly, I returned the unit a few days after I bought it. I just found that it was too intense for me and then at the same time decided to simplify my rig. I figure that if overdrive, wah and some delay was good enough for guys like Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix and a guitar and an amp is good enough for BB King, what do I need a strings synthesizer effect for to make music?
... and that's all I have to say about that.

I don't use wierd stuff very oftenly too , just basic types of dist , chorus with clean tones , delays & reverbs , compression , and the wah.
But with tweaking the crap out of these units , I can get very strange sounds like winds, and non-earthly sounds which are very usefull at gigs ... I like to make the audience mouth opened. ;)

Near as I can tell the MT-2 is almost the same thing as the GT-6 without the amp modeling.

I have a GT-6 and I just love the thing. I play through a PV Bandit 112 and the 6 gives me almost anything that I want - be it going thru the 112, headphones on the line-in on my boombox (great for recording backing guitar for myself) I have all the 'names' in sound that I want Marshall, Mesa, Fender, VOX - it's all there if you do a little homework and spend some time playing with the variables.

Yes, it takes a bit of getting used to but it's worth it - the thing is you have so much control over so many parameters that you need to figure out how to move around. Most of the presets suck, but some are a really good starting point for tweaking.

Not to mention the Manual function which allows you to essentially turn the 6 into a row of stomp boxes and turn on and off whatever you want or need.

I my opinion the 6 is far superior to the MT-2 - Best money I spent.
