Does anyone know how to get into the GT40 cabinet to repair a broken 3.5mm headphone socket?  I just can't see any way in, having removed all the screws showing.  I did email Fender but they advised getting a professional to deal but I can't find one!  I did read that it is designed as a 'throw away' if it breaks down.  I live in Maidstone.  My dilemma is that I use it as line out into my Bose Tonematch in order to achieve a better sound as it's a small cabinet.  Mick

It's designed as a throw away? Geez, who's the genius that thought your money grew in trees??

Mick, I hope you find a way to fix this seemingly small and simple problem. Kinda sad that the headphone connections would break off so easy. If it was me, I'd take that sucker apart if I had to take every screw and fastener until I reached nirvana. Good luck brother

As a last resort use a hole cutter bigger than the socket. Gives access to the wiring and fit a new socket with the securing nut to the outside. Bit of patchwork with light ply and self tappers is better then ditching a throwaway

Have you tried popping the front grill off then removing the 6 screws (3 per side) and seeing if the chassis slides out the front that way?

Good job, Dave! I knew you’d figure it out.
