Guitars can be very different in their sound charactaristics and choosing the right guitar for you depends on the style of music you wanna play.

Anybody should answer these questions first before buying a guitar:

1-Do you want it 6-strings or 7-strings guitar?

2-Do you like Fat Humbucking sound or Single Coil pickups sound?

3-Do you like using Tremolo-bridges or fixed bridges. If tremolo is what you like, which do you prefere Fender Standard or Floyd Rose?

4-Do you like 24 or 22 frett necks?

5-Do you like big or small necks?

6-What about the scale length , 24.75" or 25.5"?

If you can't answer these yourself, find a someone you know closely who can do it for you.

If you can't find anybody to help you choosing a guitar, a safe solution is buying the cheapest Jackson,Ibanez or ESP you can find with (Humbuckers, 24 fretts and Floyd Rose Tremolo).
You can't go wrong if you do so.

Then I suggest you go to an online Guitar store and find a guitar with the specification I told you.

GNR & Aerosmith uses mainly Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar.
It's very expensive for a beginner since it usualy costs over $2000.

I recomend a guitar with (Humbucker , 24 fretts & Floyd Rose) , these are the specifications of a typical Metal Lead guitar.
It will work fine for most of the styles you might be playing.

A guitar around $500-$600 will be fine.

as if options arent confusing enough, you could get a fender fat strat which has a humbucker. If your keen on gnr and aerosmith then get the epiphone les paul, sure the pickups suck ass but most do in that price range. Since your new, just remember a guitar only sounds as good as its amp and vice versa so your questions areent over yet, now u must ask 'what kinda amp do i want?". Well your probably gonna end up with a 15 watt practice amp or if u lucky a little powerful 25 which is a little louder. I have a fender frontman amp and its not bad, it does what it says, its a pracitice amp and i practice on it, but i would nt show it to my friends! U should look into a practice amp if u just starting and on a budget. Theyll cost you about a hundred american dollers.

Most of my guitars are either Yamaha or Washburn, and none of them cost a huge pile of cash. You might want to consider getting an acoustic guitar first, so you can concentrate on learning how to play, without getting tangled up in a whole bunch of options that you have to choose from when you get into electrics. After you get some experience, you'll have a better idea of what you want, (which makes finding it a whole lot easier)!

You dont need an expensive guitar...the cheapest ones can sound better than the one that cost more. I bought my first electric guitar for $100 and my first acoustic for $50. You could even buy a body and build one the way youike it(or go to someone to help you) Maybe a gibson sg or a fender strat would be good for a 1st.
