Anybody should answer these questions first before buying a guitar:
1-Do you want it 6-strings or 7-strings guitar?
2-Do you like Fat Humbucking sound or Single Coil pickups sound?
3-Do you like using Tremolo-bridges or fixed bridges. If tremolo is what you like, which do you prefere Fender Standard or Floyd Rose?
4-Do you like 24 or 22 frett necks?
5-Do you like big or small necks?
6-What about the scale length , 24.75" or 25.5"?
If you can't answer these yourself, find a someone you know closely who can do it for you.
If you can't find anybody to help you choosing a guitar, a safe solution is buying the cheapest Jackson,Ibanez or ESP you can find with (Humbuckers, 24 fretts and Floyd Rose Tremolo).
You can't go wrong if you do so.
