I'm back... erm, I was gonna post and let you figure that out for yer selves... erm...but i thought i'd save you some time...
What's been happening? There's been talk of a newsletter, can someone fill me in?
I couldn't post for a while, but even if could, I've been working 52 hours a week (40 hours of which are for the minimum wage, and no it's f-ing not f-ing been f-ing any f-ing fun!), cleaning in a bakery... and to make things worse i was on a diet, and i would smell these lovely smells and see this lovely food and never be able to taste it... gggrrrrrrr... and what's worse is that i was working in a room with no windows with a loud machine, for pretty much most of each day..

But i'll have some money to buy a cheap-ish bass and a keyboard, so i can do some serious recording at uni...
THat reminds me, Hey rask! I went and listened to "Elephant riders" by clutch, and goddam it's good... it's got elements of KC and the sunshine band in there, and are really funky. I'll probably get the album. It's low tuned, but it sounds funky rather than dark or heavey... so, much apreciated rask.

Welcome back then. I remembered something about a guy who said they where leaving for a while, was that you?
Anyway, on the note of keyboards I've been messing around with the piano and drums. They're both fun instruments. Just thought I'd fill everyone in.
Anyway its cool your back.

Your lucky your not applying for a job here.
I got turned down at the foodland. It was either my hair or the fact that I coulnd't speak french.
Anyway, at least in most places in the States bilingualism isn't a requirement. It would probably help though.

Yeah, but your not from Canada, so you dont have to learn French to get a job in a rural location where 90% of the population speaks English anyway. Bah!

We are too. We have two national languages, French and English. I've always been terrible in French class. Its only mandatory up to grade 9, so when I passed that I was like, "Sweeeeet!"
I might be better at it if I used it more, but I never have, so whatever I learned is gone now.

Ya I just think it will be cool to bi-langual so I can meet more people who speak spanish. Just like a zone into a whole nother uh well zone. Languages are about the only useful things they teach us in school unless your going to be a scientist, historian and some other things. All school is, is a preperation for the next level.

Yeah, but Im bad at that stuff.
I should say that, I mean, my grades are okay, but I have no interest in anything other than the guitar. Its an obsession. Lucky thing my highschool has a rockband run by the music teacher. Thats probably my best subject. They call the course Music In Life.

I wish we had a class like that. But our school is small, so the variety of course we can take is small.

Same here. Our music teacher wont move to a city school. The last school I was at had only 300 kids, then they closed it, so the band moved to another school woth about 600.
Its the most fun course you could ever take. I've got tonnes of pics, great memories, but they havent got our new rehearsal room done yet, they better hurry, or the band is in seriouse trouble.

Welcome back, hope you get a raise. Rask hasn't been around here in a while. He was moving, but I don't know what's happened to him.

Languages rock :) Whilst we're on the subject I might as well say I'm starting a degree in languages in three weeks time. German is my main one and Spanish my second. French would be useful but I could never get the hang of it back at school. And the spanish music is certainly creative and useful. When I was living there earlier in the year I heard some great Flamenco guitarists. And one guy who was teaching me spanish could play the blues really well, he had a great band who would play in the bars round the town. Never heard a Gibson SG played quite like that....ah the memories.

lmao, I came back to have a look at this thread... and found that it was 3 pages long, i thought i was really popular, only to find that you bastards had started chatting amoung yer selves... oh well...
I'm bilingual, I speak English and arabic (both as fisrt language, i haven't got a preference for either)... But god, I had some miserable times due to it, because we didnt know we'd be here permenantly (when i was little), i would go to yer standard comprehensive school here which is in English, and then get home do my english home work, and then do the arabic school work, and at weekends i'd go to arabic school... I hated it soooooooooooooo much, but i think it did give me an advantage... by the way, when i did arabic studies it wasn't just language, I did the full range of subjects (literature, maths, science(s), history, goegraphy etc etc)... When i was only at primary school this was ok, cos the work wasn't heavy, and i hope i dont sound arrogant, but i'm fairly bright acedemically (my spelling leaves a lot to be desired though)... by the time i was in my mid teen, it was TOO much, and i ended up taking time off english school to catch up with arabic school (which would finish a month and a half before), and then come back to english school to catch up, arrrrrrrrrrrrgg, just thinking about it brings it all back... but luckly it all stopped when i was 15..

I'm not at work today, cos i quit.. I need to buy stuff for when i move to uni next week... oh actually, i might not be able to post as much when i'm there.... bugger..
