Maybe overlooked ... I was in Guitar Center the other night looking for a strap for my electric and I didn't see anything very good. Most are nylon straps, kind of cheap looking, maybe not to comfortable ... Gibson has a vintage series but they want $110 for the thing ... oh, it's nice.

Any ideas?

What did Duane Allman use? What do some of the pros use? I can't find any info on that ....

thanks

The Ernie Ball, inexpensive strap nylon work find finen for me.. The inexpensive faux leather type suck.. They tend to get ragged edges and it irrate the neck.. At least that's is my experience. I have not needed strap clips to this point, but I do check often and always pick guitar up as if it had no strap..
If I was styling at public events, I might want something more attractive.
If I was to have something fancy, I might go to the local leather shop in town for a custom one..

Check here for sample..

I live by Planet Waves Woven straps. I've got 5 instruments with these straps. Soft, comfortable and long enough too.

Example of one I have:Link >>

Straps are a big deal. To me anyway.

The seatbelt straps work great. They never wear out and they are cheap.

Some people find them "slidy" and if you have a neck heavy guitar, you might consider another material with more friction on the shoulder.

I prefer leather straps, and my most comfortable one only cost about $30. I think my most expensive is only about $45. $110? For a belt? lolololololol
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Bought a Franklin Leather strap, 50's vintage style, thin one with padded shoulder for my electrics. I'll give it a shot.

My outlook on straps is: As long as it keeps my guitar from hitting the floor and doesn't give me blisters, that's the strap I'll use.

I use Fender straps.... I will never pay over 30 dollars on a strap, sorry. I have a cotton tweed vintage fender strap that is teh most comfortable strap i have ever used and i got it for like 12 dollars on musicians friend...

Levy's straps are very nice quality leather. I prefer their styles made with heavier leather. I need the extra-long size so I must shop around.

If you can use the standard length, there are sometimes good sales at Musicians Friend and good deals on eBay.

Best wishes.

I have a synthetic, wide in the middle and soft (I do not remember the company, but laziness to climb into a backpack).[br]But the ends of his leather. But the belt is all garbage, the main thing is to be comfortable. I am looking for a good leather. Would you advise? https://leather-toolkits.com/reviews/best-leather-guitar-straps/ As an example here

I use a traditional Guatamalan woven cotton belt. I simply removed the screws that attach the strap buttons to the guitar. I then used a bic pen to open the weave of the strap enough for the small side of the now loose strap buttons to fit through the hole in the weave. Then I screwed the buttons back to the body of the guitar....done.

This strap will not come off the guitar. The cotton strap breaths so no sweaty spot on your shoulder. It also has great friction so your guitar has less tendency to slip around on your shoulder, making the instrument easier to hold and play. The light weight strap takes up little or no space in the guitar case and I have never had a more comfortable strap. They also come in an infinant colors and patterns.

The down side is if you wish to use the strap on several diffrent guitars it doesn't just unbutton from the guitar. NOT CONVIENT TO THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM G.A.S... but the great part is that my guitar never slips off its buttons, no matter how I might thrash my guitar about. My answer is to this problem is to have a strap for every guitar.

I have used everything from a piece of string to an elaborately tooled leather strap. These cotton straps are the very best I have ever found.

My favorite I found on reverb: el dorado traditional. Got it for $75 used, but thick leather and sheep’s wool padding on shoulder strap. For my acoustic, I have a fender vintage. Ran me about $15.00. It’s vintage style and, since my acoustic is light, ithis strap is not overkill.

Its are made of leather, better than nylon. The price varies in the region of $90- $130. Well, after all, leather.

Most important is you invest a little in good straplocks, they prevent your guitar from falling.

Anytime a conversation comes up about guitar straps I ask that people at least take a look at Lakota Leathers. They are all made from Bison and are unbelievably comfortable. And I have had conversations with some people on other forums, mostly Guitar Gathering, and people that have had them for years report they are very durable and last a long time.

And, importantly, every purchase goes to support people definitely in need of help. From the website: "Each Lakota Leathers strap is assembled on the Pine Ridge Lakota Sioux Indian reservation in South Dakota, USA. Pine Ridge has the undesirable distinction of being the poorest county in the entire United States. The purchase of any Lakota Leathers strap not only gives you the ultimate quality, but helps provide income for people on the reservation. Truly a 'cottage' industry, Lakota Leathers straps are assembled in living rooms and on kitchen tables of the people who make these wonderful straps."

I'm not asking you to purchase from Lakota Leathers just because I ask. I'm just asking you to take a look. If you decide based on what you see and hear, then great. If not, thanks for looking. But everyu single person I've ever known to try them, love them. And yeah, I have one on every guitar.
