The Ernie Ball, inexpensive strap nylon work find finen for me.. The inexpensive faux leather type suck.. They tend to get ragged edges and it irrate the neck.. At least that's is my experience. I have not needed strap clips to this point, but I do check often and always pick guitar up as if it had no strap..
If I was styling at public events, I might want something more attractive.
If I was to have something fancy, I might go to the local leather shop in town for a custom one..
