Punk Rock Scales ?
im not too sure there are any scales dedicated to
punk rock...but im not big on scales either....
I think that I've noticed that a lot of punk rock
solos tend to follow the vocal melody.

They're really acurate and there's almost every song tabbed.
to the guy that said punk doesn't use tapping or p. harmonics...listen to the Living End...Chris Cheney is one of the best guitarists out there today.
Although, some bands do use them a bit. Check out TriggerHappy, or check out the Satanic Surfers. Those are two bands which come to mind. Oh and Strung OUt does a kiss ass version of Bark at the Moon by none other. You can find that song on the Punk goes Metal Cd. Check it out. There is stuff on Pantera to G and R
I suggest trying to put solos into punk rock. You may get a mass following!
To My wife, the six string!
If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck----Odds are it's a duck. Danny Partridge
You can add other notes to the scale, thus adding various "spices" to a solo or a phrase. Just remember that too many spices disguise or ruin the natural taste, and you don't want your solos to sound like random clusters of notes ( although...) Treat it well and it will give you years of fun. And then try some Locrian.........NOT!
while the buttons are circled.
Punk rock was heavily inspired by Folsom prison blues. Rock evolved into punk from a lot of artists from that song by early or mid 70s. I was born in early 80s so I donno when punk started. They say late 70s, I don’t believe that, there was likely tons of underground punk bands in late 60s.
I’d say punk is in minor n major pentatonic. It’s like simple blues but very fast. They used its simplicity for any kinda of expression in writing. I’m a punk rock singer/ emo / pop punk/ hardcore etc.
I only play songs on acoustic. I’m Mainly a tenor singer/frontman, but I started guitar in 3rd grade, longview by GD changed my life, never heard a bass riff like that, n I felt its freedom, I was rebel since I was 7/8. Now I’m a professional singer. Music changes/ saves lives, it’s god to me n I’m not religious whatsoever.
Hope that makes sense.
Hi Guys, Punk rock, known for its raw energy and rebellious spirit, is characterized by its distinctive sound and aggressive guitar-driven music. While punk rock often focuses more on power chords and fast-paced riffs rather than intricate scales, there are a few scales that can be associated with the genre.
The most commonly used scale in punk rock is the pentatonic scale, particularly the minor pentatonic scale. Its simplicity and versatility make it perfect for creating catchy and aggressive guitar hooks. Punk rock guitarists often rely on the minor pentatonic scale to produce gritty and edgy melodies that complement the genre's intensity.
In addition to the pentatonic scale, punk rock occasionally incorporates elements of the blues scale, which adds a hint of bluesy flavor to the music. This scale can infuse punk rock with a slightly darker and more expressive tone.
Ultimately, while scales may not be as prevalent in punk rock as in other genres, the pentatonic and blues scales offer a solid foundation for creating memorable and high-energy punk rock music. The essence of punk lies in its attitude and energy, and it's through the relentless power of the instruments and lyrics that the genre truly shines.
Sure thing!
Punk rock scales aren't really a specific set of scales like in other genres. Punk is more about attitude and energy rather than adhering to traditional scales. Power chords and simple progressions are common in punk music.
Punk rock's influence extended beyond music, shaping fashion with its iconic leather jackets and mohawk hairstyles. It's a genre that openly challenges societal norms and institutions, channeling frustration and anger into a desire for change. Punk's impact on music and culture is undeniable, giving rise to various subgenres and inspiring countless musicians and artists. Over the years, it has evolved, blending with other genres and continuing to shape the musical landscape.

The pentatonic scale is a scale that is often used in punk rock. In particular, the minor pentatonic scale is used a lot. It is played most of the time in the keys of E or A and has five notes per octave.
