Punk rock was heavily inspired by Folsom prison blues. Rock evolved into punk from a lot of artists from that song by early or mid 70s. I was born in early 80s so I donno when punk started. They say late 70s, I don’t believe that, there was likely tons of underground punk bands in late 60s.

I’d say punk is in minor n major pentatonic. It’s like simple blues but very fast. They used its simplicity for any kinda of expression in writing. I’m a punk rock singer/ emo / pop punk/ hardcore etc.

I only play songs on acoustic. I’m Mainly a tenor singer/frontman, but I started guitar in 3rd grade, longview by GD changed my life, never heard a bass riff like that, n I felt its freedom, I was rebel since I was 7/8.  Now I’m a professional singer. Music changes/ saves lives, it’s god to me n I’m not religious whatsoever.

Hope that makes sense.
